Your Inner Voice

You are the first to hear your thoughts.

You are the very first person to hear your thoughts. All day long that inner voice is talking, and you are listening, whether you mean to or not. If it is harsh, you absorb harsh. If it is kind, you absorb kind.

Most of us would never speak to a friend the way we speak to ourselves. We would never let anyone else say those things to someone we love. Yet we say them to ourselves and call it being realistic.

You can reprogram that voice. Not by force, but by noticing it, then gently refocusing and reframing. Catch the old line, and offer yourself a truer, kinder one. You are listening anyway. Give yourself something good to hear.
